Real awakening is not some external force or happening. It is a knowing deep within that is all self concept as an identity or personality. It can be a shocking revelation, but in most cases it is a continuous dawning. Awakening is as if the sun rises inside of you instead of only outside of you. It is quiet and grounded, like a still mountain that knows its commanding presence and power. It is the most humble because it knows itself and need not reveal it out loud. This awakening is able to be in the world, embracing every thing – mundane and mystical – as magical and marvelous. Awakening creates service that doesn’t need to change anything, and in this way changes everything.
